HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL POSTSEASON PAIRINGS

On Friday, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union announced pairings for the regional playoffs.

In Class 1A Region 7, these first-round games will be played at 7 p.m Friday, June 30.

• Central Elkader at Turkey Valley
• Starmont at Edgewood-Colesburg
• West Central at Kee, Lansing

In Class 2A Region 6, area teams won’t be in action until July 5: 

• Wapsie Valley will host the winner of the June 30 game Postville at Denver. Game time is 5 p.m.
• East Buchanan at Alburnett, 7 p.m.

In Class 3A Region 6, these first-round games will be on July 6:

• Oelwein at Benton, 7 p.m.
• New Hampton at Sumner-Fredericksburg, 5 p.m.
